A note from our chief-mischief maker
It all started with her first period!
From the moment we get our first period, we're taught to accept it—with all the pain that comes with it. Despite the fact that PMS is a widely known medical condition that the majority of women suffer from month by month, nobody talks about it.
I was determined to solve a problem that affects 3 out of 4 women in the world, yet is chronically under-addressed by the healthcare industry. We founded Oemph not only for me, but for all women who can agree: PMS f*cking sucks.
With love and determination,
Danté Simonato

Hydration & Hormone Balance
The Vital Connection Between Hydration and Hormonal Balance

Optimal Cellular Function
Water serves as the cornerstone for various cellular processes, including the production, secretion, and signalling of hormones. Ensuring adequate hydration supports the efficient functioning of cells involved in hormone regulation, laying the foundation for a well-balanced hormonal milieu.
Transport of Hormones
Blood, the body's primary carrier of hormones, relies heavily on water. By maintaining proper hydration levels, the bloodstream can effectively transport hormones to their intended target tissues and organs, facilitating vital physiological functions.
Temperature Regulation
Hydration is key to regulating body temperature, a process critical for the proper functioning of the endocrine system. By helping to maintain optimal body temperature, hydration indirectly supports hormone release and regulation.
Kidney Function
The kidneys, essential players in hormone balance, require adequate water intake to function optimally. Proper hydration ensures that these vital organs can effectively eliminate waste products and regulate fluid and electrolyte balance, thereby contributing to hormonal equilibrium.
Detoxification
Hydration aids the body's natural detoxification processes, assisting in the elimination of metabolic by-products and potential hormone disruptors. This detoxification support is paramount for overall hormonal health and balance.
Balanced Blood Volume
Water, a major component of blood, plays a crucial role in maintaining balanced blood volume. Optimal hydration prevents blood from thickening, ensuring the smooth transportation of hormones to their designated destinations.
Hormone Stability During Exercise
Regular physical activity is essential for hormone balance, but maintaining hydration is equally vital during exercise. Adequate fluid intake helps sustain hormone stability, warding off exercise-induced hormonal imbalances.
Reduced Stress Hormones
Dehydration can lead to an increase in stress hormone production, such as cortisol. Chronically elevated stress hormones can disrupt the delicate balance of other hormones in the body, underscoring the importance of staying properly hydrated.
Improved Insulin Sensitivity
Proper hydration is associated with enhanced insulin sensitivity. Balanced insulin levels are instrumental in hormone regulation and may help prevent conditions like insulin resistance, highlighting the role of hydration in hormonal health.
Support for Menstrual Health
Adequate hydration can provide relief from certain menstrual symptoms, such as bloating and cramps. By helping regulate the balance of hormones involved in the menstrual cycle, staying hydrated contributes to menstrual well-being.
Enhanced Hormone Metabolism
Hydration supports the metabolic processes involved in hormone synthesis, metabolism, and elimination. This comprehensive support system is essential for maintaining hormonal balance and overall health.
